I had been feeling stuck in a creative rut lately & unable to connect the dots as to why I felt this way. I took this time to declutter my life - mentally, physically and all other possible ways to help me find that pep in my step again. In today’s blog & podcast episode, I’m sharing 3 simple tips to declutter your life for this new season ahead, especially if you’re feeling stuck in a personal or professional rut.
3 Tips to Declutter Your Life for a New Year
#1 Have a Clear Head Space
Be cognizant of all of your actions & where you are spending your time.
Try using the book 168 Hours & use it to track your time for an entire week. It’s important to pay attention to what you’re spending your time on & then set boundaries and create new systems in your life to spend more of your time on the things that bring you joy. #2 Manage Your To Do List
Automate, delegate, or eliminate.
Assess your to-do list from an optimization standpoint. What can you automate? What can you delegate? What can you eliminate? For me, I took the opportunity to hire a nanny right out of college to create the time and space for me to excel in the job I love so much, while also taking care of the daily household duties that come with having a family. #3 Optimize Your Physical Spaces
Create room for more joy in your life by decluttering your physical spaces.
Approach all of your physical spaces with this decluttering mindset - your closets, your bedrooms, your bathrooms, and even your car. How can you optimize these spaces to automate, delegate, and even eliminate things in each space to bring more balance & joy in your daily life? Approaching my life from this decluttering mindset has allowed me to make more room for the things that bring me joy each day & get that pep in my step back, especially after feeling in a bit of a rut.
