3 Steps to Start Eating More Whole Foods
(& Why It Will Make You Happier)
My best advice for embracing a healthy mindset when it comes to food is to listen to what your body needs & eat what resonates best for you individually. We all respond differently to different foods & have different taste preferences, so this may not necessarily be eating 3 meals per day or following the latest diet trend. Let’s start by gaining awareness of your current food habits & then begin incorporating more whole foods with these 3 easy-to-follow steps below!
STEP #1 Write Down Everything You Eat for 5 Days
Use a food journal to write down everything you eat throughout the day - don’t make any changes yet. This will give you insight into what your current eating and food habits are & how this is making you feel. At the end of the day, make sure to take note of how you FEEL after eating what you ate that day. Were you happy & energized? Were you depressed? Maybe you felt sluggish? Write it down.
STEP #2 Eliminate 1 Non-Whole Food for 1 Week
Take a look at your list of foods from the 5 days & eliminate 1 unhealthy, non-whole food that you noticed you eat regularly - especially if you noticed it didn’t make you feel good. Take note of how you feel & if you have more energy or less of an upset stomach in order to keep you motivated to stick with it!
STEP #3 Keep Eliminating 1 Food Per Week
After that first week, keep eliminating different unhealthy, non-whole foods every week & take note as you begin to feel more energy & more joy as you naturally start eating more whole foods!
